Klein Collins High School’s regular student population is 3,333 with a student-teacher ratio of 16.3 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Klein Forest High School is 3,409 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.2 students/teacher ratio.
Klein Collins High School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 86 in student achievement, 82 in school progress and 77 in closing performance gaps. On the other hand, Klein Forest High School earned a State accountability rating of C. The school posted 70 in student achievement, 76 in school progress, 61 in closing performance gaps and 72 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Klein Collins High School and Klein Forest High School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Klein Collins High School. They make up for 39.66% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.98%), African Americans (16.80%), Asians (7.11%), Two or More Races (3.99%) and Native Americans (0.36%).
At Klein Forest High School, Hispanics make up 66.21% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.68%), Asians (6.95%), Whites or Caucasians (2.76%), Two or More Races (1.53%) and Native Americans (0.79%).
Based on household incomes, the Klein Collins High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 43.14% compared to 79.00% at Klein Forest High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Klein Collins High School has 283 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 8.49% of student population. Klein Forest High School has significantly more ELLs at 940 or about 27.57% of student population.
Klein Collins High School’s bilingual students comprise 7.86%, gifted and talented students, 5.67%, while 11.19% are in the special education program. Klein Forest High School bilingual students comprise 26.69%, gifted and talented students, 3.61%, and 10.00% are in the special education program.
