Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy’s regular student population is 353 with a student-teacher ratio of 17.7 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy is 219 students and a student-teacher ratio of 11.5 students/teacher ratio.
Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 97 in student achievement, 95 in school progress and an impressive100 in closing performance gaps. It scored 94 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy’s only distinction designation is in Science.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy. They make up for 52.12% of student population, followed by African Americans (45.61%), Asians (1.13%), Whites or Caucasians (0.57%) and Two or More Races (0.57%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 63.93% of student population, followed by African Americans (29.22%), Whites or Caucasians (4.57%), Asians (1.37%) and Two or More Races (0.91%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 69.69% compared to 83.11% at Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy has a slightly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 28.33% of its student population compared to 37.44% at Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy.
Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy’s bilingual students comprise 26.91%, gifted and talented students, 31.16%, while 1.42% are in the special education program.
