It is in this area where the two schools differ. Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Emmett J Conrad High School’s three out of seven distinctions are in Science, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet is Hispanics who make up nearly 75.00% of student population, followed by African Americans (15.60%), Whites or Caucasians (4.91%), Asians (2.78%), Two or More Races (1.50%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
At Emmett J Conrad High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 64.35% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.68%), Asians (9.77%), Whites or Caucasians (2.90%), Two or More Races (0.92%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 73.29% compared to 92.21% at Emmett J Conrad High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet has 50 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 10.68% of student population. Emmett J Conrad High School has significantly more ELLs at 843 or about 64.35% of student population.
