It is in this area where the two schools differ. Henry B Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and post-secondary. Except for post-secondary, Geneva Heights Elementary School earned one out of seven distinctions.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Henry B Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy is Hispanics who make up nearly 96.07% of student population, followed by African Americans (2.74%), Whites or Caucasians (0.68%), Two or More Races (0.34%) and Native Americans (0.17%). There is no Asians student in the school.
The student population at Geneva Heights Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 43.58%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (36.19%), African Americans (11.09%), Two or More Races (6.03%), Asians (2.14%) and Native Americans (0.58%).
Based on household incomes, Henry B Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 90.26% compared to 43.77% at Geneva Heights Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Henry B Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 74.02% of its student population compared to 19.26% at Geneva Heights Elementary School.
Henry B Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy’s bilingual students comprise 69.40%, gifted and talented students, 18.29%, while 8.72% are in the special education program.
