Hazel S Pattison Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Jean & Betty Schmalz Elementary School’s only distinction designation is in Read/ELA.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Hazel S Pattison Elementary School. They make up for 46.70% of student population, followed by Asians (25.64%), Hispanics (14.01%), African Americans (9.52%) and Two or More Races (3.96%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
The student population at Jean & Betty Schmalz Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 48.76%, followed by African Americans (28.67%), Whites or Caucasians (11.41%), Asians (5.86%), Two or More Races (4.90%) and Native Americans (0.40%).
Based on household incomes, the Hazel S Pattison Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 19.91% compared to 75.42% at Jean & Betty Schmalz Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Hazel S Pattison Elementary School has 287 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 25.29% of student population. Jean & Betty Schmalz Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 457 or about 36.71% of student population.
