Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Evans Ses, which is a part of CORPUS CHRISTI ISD, with Calk-Wilson Elementary School, which is a part of CORPUS CHRISTI ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Calk-Wilson Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in post-secondary. Evans Ses has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Evans Ses is Hispanics who make up nearly 88.94% of student population, followed by African Americans (6.64%), Whites or Caucasians (3.54%) and Two or More Races (0.88%). There is no Asians and Native Americansstudents in the school.
At Calk-Wilson Elementary School, Hispanics make up 85.14% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (10.71%), African Americans (2.57%), Two or More Races (1.43%) and Asians (0.14%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, Evans Ses’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 95.58% compared to 85.29% at Calk-Wilson Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Evans Ses has 14 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 6.19% of student population. Calk-Wilson Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 40 or about 5.71% of student population.
Evans Ses has no gifted and talented student, while 8.41% are in the special education program, and bilingual students comprise 5.75% students.
