Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Elizabeth Smith Academy, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, with Judy Miller Elementary School, which is a part of MANSFIELD ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Elizabeth Smith Academy has a regular student population of 584 with a 14.2 students/teacher ratio while Judy Miller Elementary School has 575 students and a student-teacher ratio of 14.3 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Elizabeth Smith Academy and Judy Miller Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Elizabeth Smith Academy. They make up for 33.39% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.16%), Hispanics (21.58%), Two or More Races (6.85%), Asians (6.34%) and Native Americans (0.51%).
The student population at Judy Miller Elementary School is also predominantly by African Americans at 41.74%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (24.35%), Hispanics (16.87%), Asians (9.91%), Two or More Races (6.96%) and Native Americans (0.17%).
Based on household incomes, the Elizabeth Smith Academy’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 26.54% compared to 32.70% at Judy Miller Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Elizabeth Smith Academy has 65 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 11.13% of student population. Judy Miller Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 97 or about 16.87% of student population.
Elizabeth Smith Academy’s bilingual students comprise 10.79%, gifted and talented students, 3.25%, while 8.39% are in the special education program. Judy Miller Elementary School bilingual students comprise 16.70%, gifted and talented students, 2.61%, and 12.52% are in the special education program.
