Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. Dunbar Primary School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89). It scored 84 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education only.

Distinction Designations for Dunbar Primary School and Trout Primary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Dunbar Primary School. They make up for 38.52% of student population, followed by African Americans (35.06%), Hispanics (20.25%), Two or More Races (4.44%) and Asians (1.48%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
The student population at Trout Primary School is also predominantly by African Americans at 41.24%, followed by Hispanics (33.21%), Whites or Caucasians (18.25%), Two or More Races (6.93%) and Native Americans (0.36%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Dunbar Primary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 75.80% compared to 94.89% at Trout Primary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Dunbar Primary School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 6.42% of its student population compared to 8.03% at Trout Primary School.
Dunbar Primary School 5.43% are in the special education program, 55.80% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 6.42% students. Trout Primary School has no gifted and talented student, while 12.77% are in the special education program, and bilingual students comprise 8.03% students.
28 teachers employed at Dunbar Primary School have been teaching in the school for an average of about 9.7 years with individual teaching experience averaging 11.9 years. The 22 teachers at Trout Primary School have been serving the school for an average of 5 years with individual teaching experience averaging 6.7 years.
