Choosing the right middle school for your children can prove to be a daunting task. Middle school is when children start to flex their growing independence. When we compared Creekwood Middle School, which is a part of HUMBLE ISD, with Humble Middle School, which is a part of HUMBLE ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Creekwood Middle School’s regular student population is 1,173 with a 16 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Humble Middle School is 1,334 students and a 13.8 students/teacher ratio.
Creekwood Middle School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 88 in student achievement, 81 in school progress and 85 in closing performance gaps. It scored 87 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Humble Middle School earned a State accountability rating of C. The school posted 62 in student achievement, 74 in school progress, 74 in closing performance gaps and 74 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Creekwood Middle School and Humble Middle School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Creekwood Middle School is Whites or Caucasians who make up nearly 66.07% of student population, followed by Hispanics (23.53%), African Americans (4.26%), Two or More Races (3.75%), Asians (1.96%) and Native Americans (0.26%).
The student population at Humble Middle School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 52.62%, followed by African Americans (38.83%), Whites or Caucasians (3.90%), Two or More Races (2.10%), Asians (1.42%) and Native Americans (0.30%).
Based on household incomes, the Creekwood Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 17.39% compared to 73.84% at Humble Middle School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Creekwood Middle School has 33 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 2.81% of student population. Humble Middle School has significantly more ELLs at 381 or about 28.56% of student population.
Creekwood Middle School’s bilingual students comprise 2.47%, gifted and talented students, 12.19%, while 9.72% are in the special education program. Humble Middle School bilingual students comprise 28.19%, gifted and talented students, 4.42%, and 14.02% are in the special education program.
Creekwood Middle School's 73 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.6 years with individual teaching experience averaging 10.2 years. Teachers at Humble Middle School, numbering 96 teachers, have been serving the school for an average of 3.8 years with individual teaching experience averaging 8.3 years.

At Humble Middle School there are 71 female teachers and 25 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, eight special education teachers are being assisted by 16 teachers aides or paraprofessionals. In addition to its teaching staff, the school has four staff members in the school administration department and 13 more working as school support staff.
