Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Bush Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in 25% closing performance gaps. San Jacinto Elementary School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Bush Elementary School. They make up for 60.40% of student population, followed by Hispanics (23.25%), Asians (7.45%), African Americans (5.78%), Two or More Races (2.89%) and Native Americans (0.22%).
At San Jacinto Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 60.32% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (33.60%), Two or More Races (2.83%), African Americans (2.63%), Native Americans (0.40%) and Asians (0.20%).
Based on household incomes, the Bush Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 15.91% compared to 83.00% at San Jacinto Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Bush Elementary School has 105 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 11.68% of student population. San Jacinto Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 190 or about 38.46% of student population.
Bush Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 11.46%, gifted and talented students, 6.90%, while 9.01% are in the special education program. San Jacinto Elementary School bilingual students comprise 38.06%, gifted and talented students, 2.23%, and 13.56% are in the special education program.
