Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Bernshausen Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, with Frank Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Frank Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Bernshausen Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Bernshausen Elementary School. They make up for 59.27% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (25.21%), African Americans (9.70%), Two or More Races (3.03%), Asians (2.30%) and Native Americans (0.48%).
The student population at Frank Elementary School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 45.85%, followed by Hispanics (22.76%), Asians (13.79%), African Americans (11.63%), Two or More Races (5.65%) and Native Americans (0.33%).
Based on household incomes, Bernshausen Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 59.88% compared to 18.60% at Frank Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Bernshausen Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 31.76% of its student population compared to 9.63% at Frank Elementary School.
In addition, Bernshausen Elementary School has 34.42% bilingual students, 3.76% are in the gifted and talented program, while 12.00% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Frank Elementary School with 9.63% bilingual students, 9.47% gifted and talented students and 8.47% students in the special education program.
