Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Bernshausen Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, with Ehrhardt Elementary School, which is a part of KLEIN ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Ehrhardt Elementary School's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Bernshausen Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Bernshausen Elementary School. They make up for 59.27% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (25.21%), African Americans (9.70%), Two or More Races (3.03%), Asians (2.30%) and Native Americans (0.48%).
At Ehrhardt Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 57.62% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (25.24%), African Americans (9.45%), Asians (3.91%), Two or More Races (3.37%) and Native Americans (0.13%).
Based on household incomes, the Bernshausen Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 59.88% compared to 61.67% at Ehrhardt Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Bernshausen Elementary School has 262 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 31.76% of student population. Ehrhardt Elementary School has slightly more ELLs at 282 or about 38.06% of student population.
Bernshausen Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 34.42%, gifted and talented students, 3.76%, while 12.00% are in the special education program. Ehrhardt Elementary School bilingual students comprise 37.79%, gifted and talented students, 2.83%, and 12.28% are in the special education program.
