When we compared Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, with Dallas Environmental Science Academy, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, we noted a big difference in ratings.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad’s only distinction designation is in Post-Secondary. Dallas Environmental Science Academy's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad is Hispanics who make up nearly 70.64% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.56%), Whites or Caucasians (4.00%), Asians (1.54%), Two or More Races (1.54%) and Native Americans (0.62%).
At Dallas Environmental Science Academy, Hispanics make up 87.67% of student population, followed by African Americans (9.13%), Whites or Caucasians (2.28%) and Asians (0.91%). There is no Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 87.37% compared to 79.68% at Dallas Environmental Science Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 55.65% of its student population compared to 46.58% at Dallas Environmental Science Academy.
Additionally, Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Acad has 51.54% bilingual students, 15.91% are in the gifted and talented program, while 14.48% are in the special education program. Dallas Environmental Science Academy’s bilingual students comprise 44.98% of student population while 0.68% are in the special education program.
