On the other hand, C C Mason Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 77 in student achievement, 83 in school progress, 73 in closing performance gaps and 80 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Bagdad Elementary School and C C Mason Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Bagdad Elementary School. They make up for 53.28% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.91%), Two or More Races (5.70%), Asians (4.99%), African Americans (3.99%) and Native Americans (0.14%).
The student population at C C Mason Elementary School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 52.40%, followed by Hispanics (22.87%), Asians (10.66%), Two or More Races (8.04%), African Americans (5.72%) and Native Americans (0.31%).
Based on household incomes, Bagdad Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 47.15% compared to 19.94% at C C Mason Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Bagdad Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 37.32% of its student population compared to 4.17% at C C Mason Elementary School.
In addition, Bagdad Elementary School has 44.73% bilingual students, 8.69% are in the gifted and talented program, while 14.81% are in the special education program. This stacks up against C C Mason Elementary School with 3.55% bilingual students, 12.83% gifted and talented students and 18.39% students in the special education program.
