Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Arthur Kramer Elementary School, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, with W W Bushman Elementary School, which is a part of DALLAS ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Arthur Kramer Elementary School has a regular student population of 474 with a 13.8 students/teacher ratio while W W Bushman Elementary School has 340 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Arthur Kramer Elementary School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and Science. W W Bushman Elementary School's six out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Arthur Kramer Elementary School. They make up for 47.68% of student population, followed by African Americans (31.86%), Whites or Caucasians (14.35%), Two or More Races (4.43%), Asians (1.48%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
The student population at W W Bushman Elementary School is also predominantly by African Americans at 52.65%, followed by Hispanics (37.35%), Asians (6.76%), Whites or Caucasians (1.47%), Two or More Races (1.47%) and Native Americans (0.29%).
Based on household incomes, the Arthur Kramer Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 69.20% compared to 97.94% at W W Bushman Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Arthur Kramer Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 36.50% of its student population compared to 32.94% at W W Bushman Elementary School.
In addition, Arthur Kramer Elementary School has 43.88% bilingual students, 17.09% are in the gifted and talented program, while 12.03% are in the special education program. This stacks up against W W Bushman Elementary School with 33.24% bilingual students, 19.41% gifted and talented students and 4.71% students in the special education program.
