It is in this area where the two schools differ. Allen Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Bright Acad’s three out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Asians comprise the biggest group at Allen Elementary School. They make up for 37.62% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.56%), Hispanics (13.24%), African Americans (9.53%), Two or More Races (7.55%) and Native Americans (0.50%).
The student population at Bright Acad is also predominantly by Hispanics at 30.02%, followed by African Americans (26.00%), Whites or Caucasians (26.00%), Asians (10.78%), Two or More Races (6.98%) and Native Americans (0.21%).
Based on household incomes, the Allen Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 13.37% compared to 42.07% at Bright Acad.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Allen Elementary School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 7.92% of its student population compared to 9.09% at Bright Acad.
In addition, Allen Elementary School has 7.80% bilingual students, 5.07% are in the gifted and talented program, while 9.78% are in the special education program.
