"Hearth and Home" are concepts that have motivated Carolyn Easley all of her life. It is what led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and the impetus for a successful 32-year career as a secondary home economics teacher in high school and middle school, the last 27 years of which included three years in Spring Branch and 24 years in Katy where she and her family have been residents for over three decades.
For Carolyn, developing the critical skills necessary to create a happy and efficient household went far beyond the traditional views of home economics. There needed to be a focus on the "economics" part that included family finance and the kind of planning and know-how needed to truly manage a household. She applied that philosophy to her teaching methods and shares that same perspective and expertise with her real estate buyers and sellers today.
Making the transition from teaching to real estate was first inspired by the part of her curriculum dedicated to Home Design and Interior Design. While she loved teaching, real estate is and was something in which she had always had an interest and the idea took hold as retirement became a possibility. She recognized the time was right to pursue that dream and embraced the opportunity.
As a Realtor, Carolyn is very well organized, knowledgeable and dependable, with strong ethics and work standards. She genuinely loves people and has no problems getting to know them and working with them. She believes you should treat people the way they want to be treated and strives to be the kind of Realtor she would want to have herself. Needless to say, her familiarity and knowledge of her community's schools, the surrounding areas, and which neighborhoods are good for families are invaluable assets for her clients.
As someone so focused on the quality of home life, it is no surprise that Carolyn is devoted to her family, her husband, a former crop duster, her two daughters, the oldest, Simeon, a teacher with Katy ISD and her youngest, Amber, an employee at Chick-Fil-A and Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, and her nine grandchildren. She is a volunteer with Special Olympics cheering on Amber's Katy Wolfpack team. She and Amber also volunteer as ushers at the Hobby Center. When all of that is done, you can often find her at her sewing machine fulfilling a lifelong passion for the craft.
