My Hopes For 2022

To be hopeful can sometimes be seen as a set up for disappointment. What I mean is that my preference is to always be prepared. But, when the environment is one where many are refusing to play the game of expectation, the act of preparation is as minimal as a professional boxer training for a fight against a competitor whom he hasnt seen on film. There's no studying the subtle tendencies. Only relying purely on the fundamentals. After that, all that is left is HOPE.

So...Here's what Im hopeful for. That supply chains find their missing links,  and resume their strength. It's not simply that the delays are causing pinned up demand, it is also the capitulation of those very people who refuse to speculate on whether their orders can be completed in a timely manner. Along with the contract labor who sit around on a job waiting for material only to discover that materials will come days or even weeks later. The decision has to be made on rather or not to pack up and go find work elsewhere. Somewhere that, for the time being, the work is a little more certain. Also, vehicles are needed to improve the supply chain, yet production of said vehicles have staggered into 2022 as well. And of course the obvious cargo that has been stuck at sea has been an ongoing issue. Multinational businesses and politics have been shackled by the the threat, just the threat, of another Covid outbreak.

I hope that interest rates remain low. A rise in interest rate at a time when there is simply not enough production compared to the money supply is not quite the same as to much of a money supply. Fewer houses on market echo the tune of automobile manufacturers and their thirst for needed components. However, it appears as seamless as wind through trees, the housing supply is increasing. The balancing act of available homes and ready and able bodied home buyers is as delicate as a new born. Families who will unkowingly purchase their home at the margin should hope that they are under the guidance of a great Realtor.

I hope we build and rebuild. My hope for 2022 is that we can return to preparation. Preparedness with much more confidence and leave being hopeful to our expectations of sunny days and friendly encounters.
