July home sales, median prices continued their rise in Montgomery County
Montgomery County home sales continued their year over year rise in July, helping continue a strong Summer sales season. But there is still time to list your home! I work with buyers and sellers so give me a call.
According to statistics from the Houston Association of Realtors MLS, single family home sales in Montgomery County for July 2019 totaled 1,177, a whopping increase of 13.5 percent over the 1,037 sales in July 2018!
July sales marked a strong bounceback from weaker June sales data.
Sales in all four of the county's MLS areas increased for July year over year, with The Woodlands posting the strongest gains of 22 percent and Southeast Montgomery County posting just a 3 percent increase in sales over last July.
There was quite a lot of good news in the July sales data from HAR:
-- Median prices rose 5.53 percent in July compared with last year
-- Cumulative Days on Market dropped from 82 last July to 79 in July 2019
-- Months of Inventory declined from 4 months to just 3.5 months, meaning we remain in a sellers market, traditionally defined as less than 6 months of inventory remaining to sell.
We are in the traditional summer sales season; for those contemplating selling their homes, there is sitll time to list.
