With tree lined streets and custom homes, Bellaire is the perfect small town in the middle of big city Houston. In fact, Bellaire is its own city and has a separate mayor, city council, police department, fire/EMS, and parks/waste management department. Bellaire boasts a quaint downtown shopping and dining areas, giving you the convenience and accessibility close to home. But if you did want to leave, Bellaire is located just minutes southwest of the heart of downtown Houston, and minutes from the Galleria and Texas Medical Center (talk about convenience and less stress!). Easy access to all of the major highways make it easy to get anywhere you need to go. Bellaire truly holds its small town feel with all the amenities of a large city. Nearby neighborhoods include West University, Braeswood, Meyerland, Afton Oaks, and Upper Kirby/Greenway Plaza.

Bellaire has 14 parks (including several dog parks) full of playgrounds, picnics, paved walking paths, ball fields and the Bellaire Town Square Aquatic Center, which has a 14- foot dive well, splashpad, slide, and lap lanes. They even have a recreational center that has a fitness center, full gym, and holds classes for all ages. The recreation is complete with sports for all ages, summer camp for the kids, sign language for babies, and classes geared especially toward seniors. Bellaire is known for their little League team, which they take very seriously as they won the Little League world series in 2000. The Town Square also hosts a beautiful performance pavilion and a lush green event lawn, and a civic center.

Bellaire schools are conveniently located in the neighborhood and are some of the top schools in Texas:

  • Condit Elementary School has a grade of A, according to
  • Horn Elementary also has an A grade, but includes a Gold rating for honors classes and a 9 state proficiency rate.
  • Pin Oak Middle School is one of the best in the state with an A grade and a 95% state proficiency rate.
  • Bellaire High School consistently graduates about 30 National Merit Scholars each year.

In addition Bellaire is within 10 miles of 7 top college, including Rice University, Texas Southern University, Houston Baptist University, Baylor School of Medicine, University of Houston, and Houston Community College System.
