Today, October 6, 2018, I have chosen to invite anyone who wants to take the time to read this blog of my commitment of a one-year (365 days) journey as a “boots on the ground” realtist.  I first heard the word realtist used at a networking event that I attended for realtors.  Since the word tends to roll off of my tongue, realtist, I’ve decided that this is what I will refer to myself as during this 365-day journey, but for those of you who want to question if this is really a word, then to you I’m a realtor.    Let me invite you into my world and explain to you what prompted this real estate road trip.  I am a licensed real estate broker, a licensed TREC approved instructor, and a Texas A&M Commerce, MBA graduate, and after two failed attempts to build a successful team of licensed agents (of course no fault of my own) lol.  I decided it was time to go big or go home.  In the movie The Wedding Planner, with Jennifer Lopez, she is quoted as saying, when asked why she wasn’t married being such a great wedding planner; she responded “those who can’t wed, teach”.  Well I say those who can’t seem to build good teams open a GREAT training institute to teach newly licensed realtors “how to” play that strategy filled game known as real estate; and a high probability will then exist that the teams will blossom and build themselves from the highly motivated people that I attract.  Oh by the way the training institute is, Balanced Life Realty Real Estate Training Center, coming in the Spring of 2019.   Well this plan in theory sounds great; just like in theory if you sell 20 homes you can potentially take the rest of the year off.  Again, remember I said in “theory”.  OK realtist don’t get off topic back to the reason I’m committing to a 365-day blog.  I need to transform theoretical data to actual applicable processes.  In other words, put my money where my mouth is; put up or shut up, tinkle or get off the pot.  You get what I’m saying.  Leading me to commit to you that I will disclose the daily good, the daily bad, the short win celebrations and the tearful disappointments of the journey; at the end of the 365-day period what I propose to teach and possibly will be teaching before this time is over, is actually what I’m living day to day as a realtist/realtor.   OK, for every plan there has to be measurable goal.  My quarterly goal (October 6, 2018 – January 6, 2019) for this experiment is simple, 10 people, families, couples, roommates to close on a home, duplex, townhome or condo on or before December 31, 2018.  Is this an easy or even realistic goal....HELL NO!  But in the words of my former president “Yes We Can”, but STOP hold the bus.... superseding any quarterly goal or annual goal is my ultimate goal, desperate desire, just to complete this challenge.  My children or at least my daughter often responds to me with “ok, Gemini” meaning my astrological sign is that of the twins and they will change and move to something else before you can blink your eyes.  Therefore, if you decide to follow me, and you see a few days go by with no posting, hit this Gemini up and say, what’s clickin’ chicken have you gotten off track!  Otherwise let’s get this party started.    I’m defying the social media norm today and going to Sharpstown Mall to give out 150 flyers, inviting people to contact me with regard to homeownership.  I will also place 24 street signs making the same request.....to call me.  I’ll update you tomorrow!!!!!!!!!
