Happy Pi Day! Every year I celebrate National Pi Day by creating a recipe and baking a special pie. This year, however, I am away from my Houston home kitchen on real estate business in Marble Falls. So I am celebrating Pi Day by sharing the best tip I know about Hill Country pie: In the heart of downtown Marble Falls is an iconic restaurant known as Blue Bonnet Cafe. Blue Bonnet Cafe is an almost 90-year tradition in Marble Falls, so be prepared to wait a little while as the line for breakfast through dinner and fresh-baked pie flows out the door. And the extra tip about that legendary pie is Pie Happy Hour! With lots of choices and real whipped cream or meringue topping, I have not been able to choose a favorite.
