Homestead Exemption for Harris County 2018

Have you applied for your homestead exemption? Deadline is April 30th 2018!

Documents required for general homestead exemption:

- copy of your driver license with updated address: in order to file for general homestead exemption, you must bring a copy of your driver’s license (address must match the address of the home you are applying for). If you have not updated your license with your new address, you can follow this link and print out a temporary license

general homestead exemption application: complete and take in to HCAD office b/w Jan 1st 2018 - April 30, 2018 please see link for application (scroll down to 11.13 Homestead Exemption)

-postcard HCAD will send you a post card each January - there’s nothing you have to do with it, just make sure it doesn’t get returned as undeliverable
