Now is the time to file for your Property Homestead Exemption if you purchased a home last year!!!! This is an important exemption that can save you 20% or more on your homeowner taxes and must be filed by April 2017 with the appropriate county! You will need a copy of your driver’s license to complete your application for exemption and it must reflect your new address. Also, make sure you provide your closing statement to your tax preparer as you may be able to deduct all or some of your closing costs!
