About Katie Hester

Katie Chachere Hester graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She also received a Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School at Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude. Katie practiced real estate and finance law for approximately seven years with the law firm of Locke Lord, LLP. While at Locke Lord, Katie represented clients in the acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial real estate, including shopping centers, apartments, condominiums, office buildings, mixed use/urban developments, and retail and office leasing. She also represented borrowers and lenders in lending transactions. Katie also has experience with zoning and land use, community and economic development, affordable housing, and development of cellular tower sites, including issues involving the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1995. Katie spent approximately two years as the Assistant Vice President - Legal Counsel of Campus Living Villages – U.S., an international student accommodation provider, where she was responsible for all legal matters in the United States. Katie also served as a Director on the Board of CCHM Management Holding Corp., the parent company of Campus Living Villages – U.S. Katie recently joined The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center as a Legal Officer in the General Business and Education Section, with a focus on real estate matters. She is involved in numerous charitable organizations throughout Houston, and is also a member of C.R.E.W. (Commercial Real Estate Women).
