Location! Location! Location! Galveston Bay is literally at the end of your street. This is taken just off your driveway (right). Home has never flooded and there is no HOA, so you have lots of freedom to do exactly what you want. You could go fishing every day or just watch the ships passing.
This home needs some love and updating, but it has a couple hundred more square feet than most in the area. It has large rooms, two full baths, a double driveway, and a corner lot.
Let's start at the back and work our way to the front. The back door is pictured, offering easy access to the back yard. The open door is your pantry. There are two long runs of cabinetry, offering lots of great work and storage space. You can see the openings for the fridge (back) and gas or electric stove (middle).
If I was in charge of this remodel, I'd gut the kitchen and remove the furdowns so you could put in 42 inch tall cabinets. It's a very functional space, and it would be easy to update so it looks like a million bucks.
This is taken from the back door, looking through the dining area and into living room.
Here's the gigantic dining room that connects the living room and kitchen. You could leave the cased opening or install a flush beam and remove the partition wall so you have a very open space.
This is the outside wall of the dining room, showing the neighbor on the left side as you face the house. If you remove the paneling, it's the perfect time to update your electrical, plumbing and insulation before you install sheetrock.
This shows the dining room window, relative to the kitchen. You could easily extend the kitchen cabinetry by a few feet.
Here's the whole window, for perspective.
You could do so much with this space! I have a dozen different ideas that would make it look amazing. You could build in a little desk on the right side and wrap the cabinetry around the corner.
This is your living room, taken from the front of the house, looking back. The bedroom wing is to the right.
The front door is to the right, just beyond the cased opening. The sheetrock wall shown is the edge of a long coat closet in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and garage.
The same area, but looking toward the dining area. The carpet is damaged beneath the little rug.
This is the view straight on, from the front of the house to the back.
As you enter the living room from the dining room. The two tall, narrow windows are on the front of the house. The front door is to your left of this picture.
Here's the living room, showing the front door and entry. The garage is behind the paneling on the left.
As you enter the living room, there is a wide cased opening. The carpet pad has been worn down so you can feel a difference in the floor from the middle to the sides.
The primary bedroom is at the back of the house, at the end of the hallway. The open door leads to a walk-in closet. This is a very spacious room.
The open door to the left leads to your en-suite bath in the primary bedroom. The closet is directly behind us.
The primary bath has a tub/shower combination and a 4' long vanity.
Here's another view of the primary bath. A nice shower would be a great upgrade here! Most of the homes nearby just offer a 1/2 bath instead of the full bath you get with this floor plan.
Here's your primary closet. It's 6 feet deep x 5 feet wide and could be customized to offer great storage options.
The green bedroom is the larger of the secondary bedrooms and it is in the middle. It also features a walk-in closet, 5 feet wide x 5 feet deep. The window overlooks the right side yard.
Here's another view of the middle bedroom. You can see the settlement has made the sheetrock pop loose in sheets.
Here's another view of the sheetrock to show some of the needed repairs. The home is being sold AS IS. Unfortunately the company that did some foundation work many years ago is no longer in business.
The yellow room is the first of the secondary bedrooms as you go down the hallway of the bedroom wing. It is across from the hall bath and beside the garage.
This bedroom features a large reach-in closet. The window shown overlooks the side yard.
The hall bath is extremely spacious. Right now there is a 4 foot long vanity. You could easily fit a 6 foot vanity here and still feel comfortable.
This is taken looking through the hall bath, across the hall and into the front bedroom (yellow). The tub/shower enclosure will be very easy to remove in this bath. There is a nice linen closet behind the door on the right.
This is your fenced side yard. The corner lot means you have a lot more privacy between your neighbors. There is a double lot across the street, so you have one neighbor in back and one on the side.
The house is brick on three sides. You can see the AC unit, the electrical service panel, and the gas meter in this view. The door on the side is from the garage by your laundry area.
The back door from the kitchen is open. You can see a recent PVC sewer clean out. The back yard is fenced. A deck would be a nice addition here, just outside the kitchen.
You have lots of space on your corner lot. Part of it is fenced and part is open. The existing survey is FYI only. It does not show a front building line.
Seabreeze Park is at the end of your block. There are several picnic areas, swings, a party pavilion with restrooms, a playground, and fishing pier for you and your neighbors in La Porte.
Here's the fishing pier. You have a great vantage point to watch the ships coming and going to the port.
The playground is right beside the party pavilion that can be reserved through the city.
As you head south along the shore from Seabreeze Park, you find Bayshore Park, then you run into Sylvan Beach Park.
This area is really interesting, with lots of history. St. Mary's Church was built in 1901 and this part of town was considered by many to be the Coney Island of the South in the early 1900's.
Historic Sylvan Beach Pavilion is a few blocks south of Seabreeze Park, so you have easy access to all the amenities here too, including the skate park and boat launch.
Here is the pubic boat ramp a few blocks from your house.
