John Baker is a fourth generation Houstonian and fifth generation Texan. He attended The Kinkaid School and Northwest Academy prior to graduating from South Kent School in South Kent Connecticut. His collegiate pursuits included Post College in Waterbury, CT and the University of Houston Downtown where he studied Business Administration.

John's background is peppered with the farming and ranching business and owner of a trucking logistics firm in Pearsall, Texas. For 28 years he was involved as a health, safety and environmental quality executive for several Gulf Coast oil and gas firms where he learned first-hand the value of outstanding customer service and quality control.

He believes in the concept of "getting things right the first time," a lesson well-learned in his previous business endeavors and one that will characterize his approach to the real estate business. John believes that "clients should experience total satisfaction," and that is the secret to ensuring loyalty and a solid referral base. His commitment to excellence is paramount in his approach to all real estate transactions and his experience as a farm/ranch owner has reinforced the importance of meeting his customer's expectations.

Coming from a noted Houston family, John's parents taught him at an early age the importance of the 5 P's - - prior preparation prevents poor performance. They also emphasized the importance of sticking with a commitment until closure.

John's volunteer activities include: Lifelong member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Texas Wildlife Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, South Texas Property Rights Association, and Baker Institute for Public Policy (Rice University).

When time allows, John enjoys hunting and fishing, farming and ranching, Texas history and genealogy. He is married and father to four boys.

Originally from Arkansas, I have always had a heart for helping people. Before real estate, I received a degree in Criminal Justice. Soon after, I worked for the Pine Police Department for 5 years. I also worked for Sixth Division Juvenile Court where I was assigned the position of Gang Prevention Coordinator. This position consisted of planning activities and programs for the prevention of youth and gang violence. This is accomplished by reaching out to identified gang members and linking them to services, institutions, and providing access to resources in an effort to reduce attachment of youth to gangs and gang activities. Transporting youth to and from various appointments and functions. Plans and attends social and recreational activities. Serves as advocate for the youth in securing social services, education, and job-related opportunities. Performs needs assessment for youth and family members and provides information about services. Makes appropriate referrals and maintains detailed documentation of all contact with youth. I feel everyone has the chance to change, they just need someone who encourages and believes in them. Everyone deserves a second chance, even the people who do not believe they deserve it.

I've always had a passion for real estate and interior decorating. While still in law enforcement, I decided to pursue my dreams of becoming a licensed Realtor. In 2020, I decided to move my real estate business to Houston, Tx. Since, I have become very successful with helping clients whether it's buying, selling, leasing, or investing. My wife and I have been married for 46 years, and have 4 children as well as 4 grandchildren. I have always been involved in construction both in the states and on short term trips to other countries.
