Originally located at 314 12th Street, the Kavanaugh House was built in September 1935 by Floyd J. Kavanaugh to use as tenant property. Kavanaugh owned Floyd Kavanaugh & Company, purveyors of typewriters, adding machines and office supplies. The first tenant, recorded in the 1936 city directory was one of Kavanaugh’s employees, John H. Anderson.
