Send emailI have been a Texas REALTOR® since 1998. This career has been built on being in the relationship business rather than the selling business. Working in a rural area such as ours has given me the opportunity to gain years of experience in residential, commercial, farm & ranch, and unimproved properties. Our buyers, sellers, and property management clients range from multi-family investors to recreational lake home owners to owner-occupied residential homes. Close proximity to Sam Houston State University offers us some unique challenges and opportunities with student and faculty housing needs; we enjoy working with these newcomers to our area. Our area is growing and changing. We look forward to all of the possibilities that this new economic development brings to our communities.

I am as happy as a pig in mud.
I started on my own, grew into a having a team and employees and a large building.
I realized management did not fulfill me. I LOVE my clients, and I didn't get to see my CLIENTS & get to really know them. I missed THAT.
So, I've come full circle to being back on my own.

Kristen joined Markham Realty, Inc. in August of 2018, is a licensed REALTOR® and also serves as the Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator for the brokerage. MICHELLE WHITECOTTON re-joined Markham Realty as a licensed REALTOR in October 2016. She worked for Markham Realty, as Office Manager, from 1992-1996 while attending Sam Houston State University. She and her husband Tim Whitecotton, Captain at the Walker County Sheriff's Department, have two grown children. Michelle has many years of experience working in Walker County including 15 years at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Michelle is the current President of The Tall Pines Association of REALTORS. Her designations include TRLP (Texas REALTORS Leadership Program), RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert), and Social Media Pro. She also has been involved in the rodeo industry for over 30 years.
