In 2005, Samuel received the Houston International Educator of the Year finalist award, earning a free trip to Russia. That same year, he was nominated and listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers edition. Those honored are considered the most influential educators in the United States. He graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Biology .
Samuel is married to Esther, and they have four children: 17, 15, 5, and oops we did it again 2-year-old. Smiles.
