She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from South West Texas State University and a Masters degree in Psychology from the University of Houston, Clearlake. She has three grown children and is grandmother to seven grandchildren, to whom she refers as her grandies.
A firm believer in giving back to the community, Cindy is a member of the Texas Women's League; the past President of the Pilot Club ; past Chair of the Mayor's Committee on Disabilities; a Chamber Member and past President of Arc of Wharton. She donates regularly to local fund raisers, especially those that involve her grandies.
