8 Things to Know About the Houston Energy Corridor

In 2020, it’s not uncommon to hear about a massive-level business complex. Skyscrapers which defy gravity itself and suits men and women in suits that put the entire “men in black” franchise to shame are common occurrences of these business districts. Houston energy complex is also a part of these business districts and is located in Greater Houston, Texas. Located in the area between Beltway 8 and the Grand Parkway, the Houston energy complex also overlaps with the area of Memorial in Houston. 

The energy corridor has the capacity to cater over 100,000 employees and occupies an area of 26 million square feet. BP America, Citgo, Conoco Phillips, and Shell Oil Company are a few major energy companies which operate in the Houston energy complex. However, non-energy firms are a huge part of the economy here too. These include Sysco and the Gulf States Toyota Distributors.  The Houston energy complex means business, but, there are other things you can do here too. Things like:

1.      Playing Golf Yes, you read that correctly. Golfing is a major past time here and to cater to the growing demands of the public, Top Golf – a global sports giant has opened its golf courses in the Houston energy complex. They're supported by modern technology, so all you have to do is swing your clubs, drink your beers and have a good time – the rest is looked after by the top-notch machinery which makes Top Golf unique.

2.      Skating The Dairy Ashford Roller rink is a blast from the past! With an old school skating rink, you can skate in the 1970s and have fun. Birthday parties, adult's skating night, cheap skating experience and the coolest DJ’s in town – the roller rink has it all!

3.      Eating your weight in cheesy, creamy delights. Pizarro's pizza is indigenous to the Houston energy corridor. They make the best pies in all of Houston! And pizza too. Plus, the variety they offer in their flavors is out-worldly. There pizza combinations and pie crusts are famous throughout the world. Take a bite, and you'll become a fan.

4.      Relax At The Park Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you might have heard about the George Bush Park. The 7800-acre park is one of the two major located here. Bring your kids here to have a picnic or go walk around by yourself to experience nature.

5.      Paris In Houston? What is Paris known for? The Eiffel Tower and French cuisine. Because they couldn’t transport the Eiffel tower, they brought the finest French food to the energy corridor. The restaurants here offer the best France has to offer.

6.      The Schools Public and private schools located in this district are known to shape some of the most intellectual minds of the country. Plus, the public library is every reader’s dream.

7.      Houston’s Backbone Houston's economy is one of the most stable in entire North America. The reason behind this thriving economy is mostly accredited to the energy corridor. Fun fact: The district is the second-largest employment centre in the region with more than 94,000 employees and over 300 companies.

8.      Transportation People use the METRO to get around the district. This network is spread out keenly and gives adequate transportation to two-thirds of the employees who live within a “commute zone”. Plus, the district also has two general aviation airports. The Houston energy complex is a small city on its own. It’s very business-like but provides ample opportunities for you to branch out of the competitive environment and have fun!
