Interest Rates are Scarying Us Into Not Buying or Listing

Like everything else in life, what goes up, must come down (most of the time)!!

Interest have been in an all time low, but they are finally going up and we need to act before they do. Focusing on where you want to be will help you bite the bullet and move forward. In a few years, you will wish you did.

Lets talk about the reasons people tell me they want to wait on buying, Reason #1 as of late is that the interest rates are going up. Reason #2 is that home prices are at an all time high. Reason #3 is that the commitment that comes from a home is too much for them to handle.

My reply:

Reason #1: Yes, Interest rates are high, but based on what we read, they are going to get higher. Buying a house now is the best thing that you can do.

Reason #2: Home prices are not expected to come down, this is not 2008 and homes have not been sold at an inflated value. Based on What I read, we are going to hold steady on home values.

Does this mean that homes are not listed a bit high? No. It means that working with a qualified Realtor will help you make the right offer for the home you really want to buy.

For sellers, if your home has been listed for longer than 30 days, you might have it over priced. You might be scaring buyers away simply by the listed price. I would say talk to your Realtor to do another CMA to get you to where you can sell your home.

Reason #3: You will need a place to live until you take your last breath. You can either rent and be the one that pays other peoples mortgage, or you can be the one who buys and lets your homestead grow in value for you.

If you have a job, if you qualify for a loan, if you want to expand your investment portfolio, then buy a home!

With all this said: Buy now or Sell now to get into the area where you want to be! The faster you do, the better your interest rate will be.
