My name is Nile Copeland and I am proud to be a candidate for HAR 2010 Board of Directors.
With more than 8 years as an attorney and in my third year as an agent with Realm Real Estate Professionals, I have been fortunate to draw upon my experience as an attorney/mediator in my real estate practice as well as the counsel of others. Many of you know the path of a realtor is not always roses...but there is often a lot of help and support from many good people that help us get to where we are today. Even today, often no deal goes through without some hiccup BUT HAR members are always close at hand to offer friendly assistance. Why? Because by helping others, we make our profession so much stronger. Serving you, on the Board, allows me to give back to so many who have made this organization as strong and professional as it is today.
I would be honored to earn your support to the HAR Board of Directors for 2010.

I have been a Realtor for 9 years. During that time I have seen our business change dramatically. In the future it will change even more, and I believe with my vast experience in owning and running several large businesses, that I can help in bringing those changes to the Houston Assoc. of Realtors. I believe it is important that our industry and our Association needs to better educate the consumer so that they better understand what our function is in the home buying or selling transaction. If I am elected to the Board, I am willing to spend all the time and energy necessary to to make our Association even better than it is today.
In addition to growth I have attained the past 9 years as a Realtor, I have been very active in Civic affairs. I was President of my Civic Club for 3 years and during that time I was very active working with elected City officials and Department heads. I also volunteered on various Planning and Development committees.

Bill Baldwin came into the Real Estate business with one goal in mind, to succeed. This he has achieved on many levels. From beginning as a Realtor over ten years ago, Bill has set goals and reached them time after time. As the new Broker and Owner of Karen Derr & Associates Realty, Bill manages 46 agents in three offices and makes it his business to stay on top of the issues that affect Realtors each and every day.
Bill Baldwin believes in doing the job right and wants to be a member of the HAR 2010 Board of Directors to lobby for fairness and accuracy for each and every Realtor. Bill makes it his business to be the most knowledgeable about every facet of the real estate market in Houston, and his 2008 sales of $31.1 million and number 12 ranking by Houston Business Journal are a strong testament to his commitment. Bill has held the number one sales position since his second month at Karen Derr & Associates Realty over ten years ago and has no plans to slow down now.
Recently quoted in the Houston Business Journal, Bill said, “I am a firm believer that Houston, Texas, is the best place in the world to buy or sell a home today.” Bill does more for his clients than just being the expert on buying and selling in Houston's hottest markets. He is hands on with everything from floor plans to finishes to financing.

Vote for Javier Gonzalez representing Large Firms for the 2010 HAR Board of Directors!
I was in the financial industry for about nine years before I joined the real estate community in 2004. With my strong financial background I’ve been able to cover all aspects of the industry and I’ve been able to stay up to date will all the dramatic changes we have gone through lately.
Recently I worked in a political campaign and was able to learn firsthand the needs of people in certain communities and areas. I walked door to door and have no problem working grassroots whether it is for a campaign or for soliciting service. During this experience I was able to understand how much the real estate industry is important to everyone and how it affects the city.

Having been licensed in four other states, I feel truly blessed to be a part of the Houston Association of Realtors® . Being exposed to other associations brings a real appreciation to our association and it’s forward thinking. I would be honored to be a larger part of that.
I earned my Texas Real Estate license in early 2003 after moving to Houston in 2002. I practiced real estate successfully until February 2007 then earned my Texas broker license and opened my own office - RE/MAX Realty Center which has grown to 48 agents in just over two years.
I routinely attend the Texas Real Estate Commission meetings in Austin and am active with Women’s Council of Realtors and will continue to be active with the Houston Association of Realtors® and Texas Association of Realtors® . I served the association as chairman of the HAR 290 area networking luncheon in 2008. I am currently participating in the Texas Association of Realtors Leadership Development Program and serving our association on the forms committee. Truly believing that education is a vital part of our industry, I am a TREC approved instructor since 2007.
I began my real estate career in Georgia in the early 90’s, later earning my Georgia Broker license and Tennessee license. My husband and I then moved to Florida in 2000 where I also earned my Florida license. Real estate is what I do and it’s a career that I love. I am excited to offer my time and energy to our association and would be honored to serve you on the Board of Directors.

I have had the pleasure of serving our association as the Chairman’s Appointee to the HAR Board of Directors in 2009; it was a tremendous honor to be chosen by our chair and HAR Executive Committee for this position. At the age of 30, I am the youngest member serving on the HAR Board and I would like to continue my work as a part of the Board in 2010. I feel strongly that I represent the voice of Young Realtors which is imperative to our membership.
Our association faces many challenges including the need to incorporate younger REALTORS® into the leadership of our organization, increased competition from non-brokerage type firms and consistent negative consumer ratings of our industry. I look forward to helping to address these and the many other challenges as a member Board.
My experience as a leader for the HAR, TAR® & NAR has been vast. I currently serve as the Chair of HAR's NRG (Young Realtors® Group) helping to represent the voice and needs of Houston Realtors® 40 and under. In addition, I serve as a TAR Director & NAR Director. I have attended the State and the National Conventions representing our city and association. I am proud to be a STERLING R TREPAC contributor ($1000 per year) and participate in many real estate organizations including The Houston Real Estate Ass. (Realtists®/NAREB), Nat.l Ass. of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), Women's Council (WCR) - Ft. Bend Chapter and Asian Amer. Real Estate Ass. (AAREA).
I have been honored to be chosen as one of the Realtor® Magazine's Top 30 under 30 Realtors® in the country for 2007. In addition to being selected in 2009 for the Houston Business Journal's Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders. I am also an Adjunct Professor and TREC Instructor of Principles of Real Estate I and II @ Prairie View A&M University & Texas Southern University. In 2008, I was honored to be appointed by the NAR President Dick Gaylord to the NAR Strategic Planning Board, to be a recipient of the CCIM Scholarship and to complete the HAR/TAR Leadership Program, which is designed to prepare its participants for HAR Leadership. I would like to be a 2010 HAR Director to represent the voice of the Young Realtor® and to help sustain and strengthen our wonderful organization.

Vote for Chris Schilling / Medium Size Firms 2010 HAR Board of Directors!
Like many other REALTORS®, family influence has played a huge role in my career selection. For me it was my mother, Virginia Schilling.Seeing her involvement and the relationships that were built along with her marked success is what sparked my interest in real estate.
I am passionate about technology and learning everything that I can in our industry.During the past year, I have felt a sincere desire to work with our local Association to help other REALTORS® achieve their potential.
After several HAR members & friends encouraged me to run, I made the decision that it was time to seek election to the HAR Board of Directors for 2010. As we are all aware, the business has been a challenge for much of our membership.Keeping this in mind, I would like this opportunity to reach out to our membership and share new ideas and strategies to help their businesses grow.
I have a lifelong commitment to education.I began taking real estate courses during the summers in High School and haven’t slowed down since. It is only through education and leadership that our members will be successful and profitable and I am committed to sharing with you!

I am deeply interested in representing the small real estate firms of Houston because I truly understand, first hand, the many challenges that small businesses face. I am passionate about Houston, was born and raised here, with only a short leave to attend college at The University of Texas at Austin.
Upon graduation and after starting a computer support company, I was graced with many clients whom happened to be involved in what is now my passion, Houston real estate. From Mike Rose to Jim Stephenson to Louis Macey to Jim McAllister, it seemed truly like divine intervention for my career path to take a change and I have been blessed to have such a great group of mentors.
I am currently proud to represent many of Houston’s largest developers and investors in the acquisition of investment and development properties but also stand firm on the rights of property owners and the ETHICAL conduct of business in relation to the sale of their property.
I have recently expanded my acquisition and development consultation duties to also include a commercial/residential brokerage so that I can provide Seller's the same integrity-driven service that I once only offered to Buyer’s. In addition to brokering inner-loop properties, Metro Realty Group manages several properties as well.
I feel that my real estate experience has been varied enough that I can effectively represent all different types of brokerages and agents, regardless of their focus.
I have a very strong understanding of real estate from the ground up, not only from the sales side but from the construction side as well. Not only acting as Broker but also as a Principal.
Due to my experiences in both technology and real estate, I am also passionate about data and mapping technologies. I would like to help both HAR and MLS make significant progress in relation to these initiatives.
The visualization of data is truly the future of our business and not only should HAR be more involved in the development of such applications but also in the training of it's members.

Having served clients in our industry for more than 10 years, I feel compelled to serve my fellow Realtors by serving on the Board of Directors in 2010. I am passionate about real estate and I want to offer my experience and talents so that the Houston Association of Realtors will continue to lead the industry in innovation and efficiency. I think it is important that every Realtor be informed, educated and challenged to be the best and that by doing so, we as a group become more qualified to serve our clients. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link and it is my hope that by bringing the talents and efforts of many to the table, can that chain be made stronger.
I have the energy and dedication to serve you well and am looking forward to the opportunity of serving on the board in 2010. Thanks for your vote and for the opportunity to serve you !

If you are looking for someone to vote for that is run of the mill with cookie cutter credentials, looks good on paper, that isn’t me so cast your vote elsewhere.
However, if you are looking for a candidate that was originally licensed in 1967 while attending the University of New Orleans, has been a developer, investor, and contractor, who upon making the decision to re-enter the real estate profession in 2004 with a clear cut goal to obtain my brokers license in the minimal amount of time and met that goal, then I am entitled to your consideration.
My fellow Realtors®, business associates and friends will tell you that I am not a suit and tie person, but I am a team player that was taught early on that the success of any endeavor is not through one person, but through that of a group with a common goal.
I am prepared to bring over 40 years of solid business experience to HAR and I ask for your vote to represent small firms on the HAR board.

"I DESIRE to INSPIRE before I EXPIRE", is my personal motto to live by each and every day. For me, "Desire" equates to "How Big is Your Want To?", or PASSION ! As I became more aware of Private Property Rights, HAR, TAR, NAR and TREPAC, my involvement became a "Passion". Continuing to be at the forefront for our consumers regarding Private Property Rights is a "given". Our "Grassroots" efforts are second to none. Therefore, it is a MUST that we continue to increase our members' awareness and the consumers' awareness on such vital issues that affect all of us as property owners.
Education is vital to one's success, and having the Certified International Property Specialist Designation has proven to be invaluable. We need to understand how our world is changing to a Global one, and to understand our "new" clients. They are Global.
The word "Inspire" is synonymous with "Encourage". To "Encourage" one with sincerity, compassion, and integrity, is how we, as Leaders of our Industry, need to "Walk the Walk" and be transparent.
And, of course, "Expire", well, that is like my "Bucket List". There are dreams and goals yet to be fulfilled, and one of those are, I would very much like to be your HAR Director from the SE for 2010. It has truly been an honor serving and one I do not take lightly.
PLEASE vote for me, Nancy Furst, CIPS, for HAR Director from the Southeast. Thank You. For a complete PROFILE, click here And check out my TREC classes, click here

Hello Fellow Realtors!
My name is Bill Havey, and I would appreciate your vote for the Geographic District Southeast Board position. I am the owner/broker of United Texas Realtors located in the Clear Lake Area. We have over 160 agents in our company, and we are continuing to grow. I have been involved in residential and commercial real estate since the 1980s. As a resident of the Houston/Clear Lake Area for 29 years and a graduate of the University of Houston, I have really enjoyed the opportunities our city has to offer.
One of the priorities of our company is to continue educating and informing our agents so they will be more successful in their real estate careers. As Realtors, I believe the main challenge we all face is adjusting to the ever-changing environment of our business.
I think our Houston Association of Realtors has done an excellent job in helping its members respond to that changing environment. HAR helps Realtors improve their business through education programs and the HAR web tools. Additionally, through the HAR website marketing efforts and billboard/print ads, the public is reminded of the value Realtors provide. The HAR website is remarkable when compared to other MLS websites around the country.
I am a very positive person and really enjoy the people I have met and worked with in my career. Houston has a lot of very talented Realtors. I know that successful Realtors are always working to improve their knowledge, people skills, marketing techniques, and productivity. We focus on those areas in our company, and I believe my experience in helping the agents in our company to be more successful will also help me make a positive contribution to the leadership of our Houston Association of Realtors.
I would appreciate your vote for the Geographic District Southeast Board position.
Thank you!

As a long time member of the Houston Association of Realtors; training, education and professionalism are of utmost importance to me. I have served as a Board member with the Realtor Association for HAR, TAR and NAR. My committee involvement includes the MLS Committee (2008 MLS Chair), the Technology Task Force, InformationTask Force, TREPAC, Training Advisory Group and the HAR Forms & Contract Advisory Group. I strive to experience all our association offers so that I can personally enhance the ability of the agents HAR serves. In addition, it is my personal goal to see our members achieve the highest level of standards and professionalism possible. I am passionate about HAR and all our association offers to each and every one of you. Our MLS, Technology and Member Information are surpassed by none and I would embrace the steps needed to stay on the cutting edge.
Licensed as a broker in 1982, my experience includes both residential and commercial real estate as well as sales and management. My background in relocation also enabled me to become familiar with all neighborhoods in the greater Houston area. I consistently promote the Greater Houston residential lifestyle by serving as a community advocate.
A native Houstonian, I have been privileged to be a Bay Area resident since 2001. I enjoy my busy schedule and make time as well to volunteer in the community with school and neighborhood activities as well. I am married and have a 12 year old daughter.

It has been the best decision of my career to enter the real estate industry. I am Co-Owner of First Group, a full service commercial real estate firm established in 1974.
I have been blessed to work, strive, and prosper in our industry during good to great times, and difficult to bad times. These past years have taught me the importance of getting involved in our associations and being active in their directions and goals. I trust my record of involvement shows my desire to be a part of the team that guides our association and membership. I have been a Sterling "R" investor in TREPAC for many years and most recently a Crystal "R" investor. It is important for the leaders of our associations to set the example of Realtor participation.
I am passionate about our industry and hope to continue working with and for our members to continue to advance the Realtor profession. We have, in HAR, "the best association in the country." This was recently emphasized by a former NAR President during our Washington, D.C. Mid-Winter Meetings and Hill Visits. It would be an honor to serve and represent you as a HAR Director.

Enthusiastic, Energetic, and Empathic are all things that not only describe me, but also the qualities which I would like to bring to the HAR Board of Directors. As an agent and broker for the past five yeas I have watched a major evolution in the real estate market in the Houston area and have seen first hand our resilience as REALTORS®. Through out that time I have seen HAR bring innovative ideas and support to local REALTORS® and I would like to continue this legacy in my service to the Board of Directors as the Commercial representative. Upon completion of my MBA and entering the Houston market I quickly learned of the major opportunities which the commercial segment represented to Houston REALTORS® and would like to continue to bridge the commercial pathway for REALTORS® in the Houston area. I have worked continuously in local civic and professional associations including Houston Intown Chamber and my homeowner’s association to give strength and business direction to its members through networking, organization, and innovation and would appreciate your vote to incorporate these skills within the HAR Board.
Please vote for me, Eleanor Curry, for your HAR Board Commercial Director. Thank you.

I'm excited to run for the 2010 Houston Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors. I am here to serve and encourage growth and participation to all of our HAR members. I believe that there is a great opportunity and a wealth of knowledge to be shared with all our members.
My goals are to set high standards through the association by actively promoting all of HAR's services and working to get members involved in the political area of our real estate industry. As a member of the 2009 TREPAC Advisory Group and Lone Star Statesman contributor, I am driven to promote awareness about the political issues affecting our profession. With over 8 years of marketing, management, and planning experience, I have helped raise thousands of dollars for non-profit and professional organizations. One of my latest achievements is the implementation and redesign of the Women's Council of REALTORS - Houston Chapter website. The new and user friendly website is more cost effective and better serves the membership and sponsors.
As a member of the 2009 NEXTGEN Advisory Group, I’ve also set up and continued to assist with maintaining NEXTGEN’s online presence through social networking on Facebook. Using Facebook as a tool we have successfully established membership awareness and growth by reaching out and connecting the group with our Realtor community.
As a Realtor I understand the challenges that we face. I am here to reach out to help our members enhance their business opportunities and professional lives. I am an active volunteer with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Houston SPCA and Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.
Currently I am completing a Masters degree in Urban Planning and Development with the ambition to redevelop underserved communities.
I have the PASSION to make a difference in your success.
I will humbly appreciate your VOTE and your confidence in me!

As a licensed Realtor in Houston for the past 18 years, I actively list and sell properties on a full time basis. I’ve survived market downturns before and understand the challenges this market brings to our profession.
I am a strong believer in education and have earned the following professional designations: • ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) • PMN (Performance Management Network) • CNHS (Certified New Home Sales) • GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) • SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist)
I currently serve you as a member of HAR’s Governmental Affairs & Political Affairs Advisory Committees and TREPAC Committee. I am also honored to be appointed by the Texas Association of Realtors as a TREPAC Trustee and will continue to serve on TAR's International Committee. Through national networking and my work as a two term WCR State Governor I have a broad understanding of market conditions around the country.
I have met with lawmakers in Austin and Washington to discuss such subjects as health insurance, unfair taxation of Realtor commissions and reforming mortgage lending practices. I’ve participated in Realtor Advisory committees and Task Forces on a state and national level. I am very involved in the politics of Real Estate and how that affects our earning power.
Over the past few years I have served on numerous Realtor Association committees including: • Strategic Planning • Finance and Budget • Ways and Means • Education • Marketing • Technology • Bylaws • Advertising
I think that limiting one’s experience to just real estate related activities helps to create a very one dimensional person. I have spent a lifetime of involvement through participation in many other organizations such as: • Boy Scouts of America • Children’s Miracle Network • Susan G. Komen Foundation • Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo • Lonestar Chapter Sierra Club • Habitat for Humanity • Co-Chair Houston ICO (Inner City Outings for at risk children)
I believe I have the experience, dedication and knowledge to represent all members of the Houston Association of Realtors. My name is Jim Dambeck and I am asking you to vote for me for the Franchise category. I promise to do my very best to represent you. Thank-you!

Everyone who works with me knows that I bring an extremely high level of energy and enthusiasm to the work place. I am also a described “workaholic”. It is this enthusiasm, work ethic and integrity that will enable me to be an effective HAR Board member and make a difference if elected.
Since 1998, I’ve worked hard to establish and lead five successful real estate businesses in Houston. Our business entities include real estate sales, investing, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing and commercial lending. It is this diverse experience that will enable me to be a successful and competent leader on the HAR Board of Directors. One of my companies is well known for its billboard advertising which has resulted in our company being extremely recognizable with tremendous positive market branding and presence.
This brings me to my number 1 goal of improving HAR advertising presence and effectiveness to promote home ownership within the Houston market. Specifically delivering the message that home ownership is still possible, obtainable for Houstonians and not the “doom and gloom” as the national media has portrayed and unfortunately convinced many citizens that they cannot obtain home ownership. We all know that this is not the situation in Houston and we need to convey this message to the public that home ownership is obtainable in Houston.
I have worked in the Houston real estate market for 11 years and that has given me the knowledge and ability to assist Houston residents in achieving their dreams of home ownership. I have been a licensed real estate Agent and a member of HAR since 2007. In addition I have also been a TREPAC supporter as well. I have been certified as a “Top Production Realtor” based upon 2008 & 2009 buyer side number of MLS sales transactions of the Houston Association of Realtors. I have also been certified as a “Top Production Realtor” based upon 2008 & 2009 listing side number of MLS sales transactions of the Houston Association of Realtors.
I have purchased and sold over 650 homes in the Houston area since 1999 so I understand the challenges our industry faces. I am a member and former Board of Directors member for the Real Estate Investment Club of Houston, and I am a regular speaker at many Houston real estate investment seminars. I have written and have had numerous articles published relating to residential real estate investment, rehabbing and finance.
I support and am extremely active in improving the community and making home ownership possible for Houstonians. I am also active in supporting Realtor friendly legislation while fighting legislation that is not favorable to our industry. If elected, I promise you I will be continue trying to make our industry stronger. I ask for your vote this year so that I can utilize my enthusiasm and vast business and real estate experience to serve our HAR Realtor members in improving our industry.

After a successful career in law and business, I became a Realtor and joined the RE/MAX International franchise due to the training, resources and business structure it offered. I have found the practice of real estate to be immensely fulfilling, and the franchise model has allowed me to achieve production levels I never dreamed possible.
I'm proud to be part of a franchise and would welcome the opportunity to represent franchise firms on the HAR Board of Directors for 2010. My sincere desire is to give back to HAR by investing my time and energy not only to maximize the technology, resources & training available through our association but also to increase the public's awareness and recognition of the services and professionalism provided by HAR and its membership.
Many of you know me through other industries. While real estate is my full-time profession, I still maintain my law license and am the owner of Happy Tails Dog Spa, a large dog daycare & spa in the River Oaks area. I'm affiliated with many rescue/shelter organizations and make a practice of donating from my commissions to animal rescue. Additional information is available at my website, www.NoPlaceLikeHouston.com.
It would be a privilege and honor to represent franchise firms on the Board. Thank you for your consideration.

I became a member of HAR in 1970 when I received my agent's license, and I have been active in listings and sales in Houston for my entire career. I was initially sponsored by Baron Realty and active there as an agent from 1970 to 1972. In 1972 I joined Village Green Properties and remained there until the spring of 1974 when I received my broker's license and opened my own company, Weldon Rigby, Realtors, which was a small boutique office specializing in the luxury upscale home market. Over the years I have served as an individual sole agent and as a broker for many agents who I sponsored and trained, and they have remained active and successful in our profession.
In 2004, I made the decision to join Keller Williams Metropolitan, and for these last five years I have enjoyed being a broker associate with the third largest franchise in North America. I have benefited from their extensive training and the freedom they have allowed me to operate without losing my identity as an individual Realtor and to maintain the brand I have built over my years in the Houston real estate market.
I am education oriented, and I have always attended seminars and classes to broaden my scope of knowledge and expertise. The real estate profession has provided me with a wonderful lifestyle and the ability to be of help to buyers, sellers, and other agents. I have always been open to change and growth, and what has occurred over the years in our profession is fantastic. I loved this business when I was first licensed as an agent, and I still am excited and look forward to every day. I would be honored to serve as a Director on the HAR Board in 2010 and 2011, and I hope you will give me that privilege and opportunity to represent you. I am a full-time broker agent with Keller Williams Realty. I have proven to be a top sales person in the private & real estate sectors. My professional background includes 18+ years of success in sales, management, negotiations and marketing multi-million dollar projects. One Call-One Team is a company I founded whose main objective was to provide viable solutions to the many facets of real estate. As a result, I have garnered many accolades throughout my career in real estate including co-writing the reference guide, Make No Mistakes® About… Buying Real Estate, www.MakeNoMistakes.com. Simply stated, I attribute much of my success to loving what I do and understanding the many challenges realtors face. As a result, I am constantly tweaking systems, taking notice of mistakes made in the industry and technology in order to streamline and improve the process. I am ready and willing to Pass the Knowledge On! Your vote is appreciated.

Fellow Agents & Har Members,
I began my real estate journey at a young age to help assist with my college tuition. Immediately following, I was taken by the real estate profession and it immediately became my career. Early on my number 1 goal was to become a Broker and own my real estate firm. My goals quickly became a reality as I opened a RE/MAX Franchise serving as Owner/Broker in the greater Cypress area.
My passion is to educate aspiring sales professionals in the industry and provide them with the knowledge I wish I had as a young real estate professional. Also, to bring newer agents up to speed quickly. I enjoy giving back and provide exceptional mentor and leadership skills. I am certified with the state to instruct core approved courses and often offer free refresher training amongst agents both new and tenured.
Leading by example I have been an accomplished business professional with an outstanding record of success in the real estate industry and a dynamic, entrepreneurial with a record of achievement and demonstrated success driving multimillion-dollar sales growth while providing award-winning sales leadership in highly competitive markets.
Further, I have had the pleasure to serve as mentor for the woman-minority business group. It is truly my passion to encourage and educate others and give them a vision of the opportunities that are available.
In our industry it is important that you must be tenacious in building new business, securing customer loyalty, and forgoing strong relationships with external business partners and keeping updated through education. Active in the community serving the Children's Miracle Network, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, National Association of Football Players, and Little League of America.
I would like to serve you, my fellow real estate family extended through HAR and I assure you I will offer my passion for the real estate industry, commitment to listen, make a change, and dedication.
I will serve you to the best of my ability if given the opportunity to serve as a HAR Director-2010.
The time for change is here and presented before you today, and I ask that you make a difference.
