Association Facts

The Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) is a 27,000 member organization of real estate professionals engaged in every aspect of the industry, including residential and commercial salesand leasing, appraisal, property management and counseling. It is the largest individual membership trade association in Houston, and the largest local Association/Board of REALTORS® in the United States.

HAR was founded in 1918. Its mission is to help its members achieve ongoing profitability.

HAR is a representative for the free enterprise system and the protection of private property rights. It is part of a network that includes the National Association of REALTORS® headquartered in Chicago and Washington, D.C., the Texas Association of REALTORS® in Austin, and approximately 1,800 local associations/boards throughout Texas and the United States.

The term "REALTOR®" is a registered collective membership mark which identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
