What is the price range of homes inside the loop that are at least 3 bedroom? We have two kids, so we are also looking for a home that is zoned to a well performing school. Thanks for your help!! :)
Hello Jordie, It's been 4 months since you first posted your question. If you are not working with an agent and/or have not found what you are looking for, then I would be honored to assist with the search for your new home. I worked in the Medical Center for 7 years and I live in the Sugar Land/Missouri City area. Hwy 90 into the medical center was my preferred route, which averaged about 30 mins (depending on time of day and traffic). We chose to live here for the excellent schools that we were zoned to in Fort Bend. But, Depending on your budget and other needs, there is a neighborhood right inside the 610 Loop that may work for you and your family. Contact me at www.realtyteam-letsmove.com or text me at 832-334-2997. Either way, I wish you and your family the best. Take Care.
Jordie, congrats on the move to Houston, as with any major metropolis drive times differ depending on the time of day you want to travel. Below i have enclosed a drive time search link that will help you decide on the areas you would like to live. I also added links for elementary, middle, and high schools, if there is anything else i can help you with please let me know.
Wonderful! The is no way to tell you what the market will be like 6 months from now. I'm a Realtor working with Keller Williams Realty. Houston is one of the cities in USA which has the best home value. You can buy a nice home in a very nice neighborhood close to almost everything, school with good public ratings, medical centers, shoppings. The price for a 3 bedrooms would go from 150 to 300 thousand dollars. I bough a home 4 bedroom, 3600sq for U$228,000.00. It is a very nice home in a very nice place. I love it. If you need any help to find a nice home I can help you. I can dig very deep to find the best buy on the place that would fit your needs.
Our family moved to Houston 10 years ago, so I understand wanting to find out as much information as you can before the move. You have already received some good information. I would also recommend using HAR's "drive time search" which allows you to enter your location and time you would be starting work. The area for a 15 minute commute will vary widely based on the time of day in Houston. I agree with prior posters that I have had clients choose outlying areas and a bit of a farther commute based on price point and schools. You can also use HAR.com to view school ratings as well. I would recommend researching and selecting a Realtor as well as a lender (a Realtor can assist you) upfront to assist you in your search. Our Realtor was indispensable when we moved from San Diego to Houston - in fact he made such a good impression I now work at his brokerage.
Hello Jordie. I just reviewed prices and as I expected, it is a wide range. Limited amount of homes under $300,000. Can go up to multiple millions. Inside the 610 loop (especially west of I-45/Hwy 288) are more expensive areas of town. Lot prices can start at $200,000. The Houston school district will dominate the public schools you are viewing. You also mentioned within 15 minutes of the Medical Center area. This will limit your options. You did not mention a price range, but if your expecting to be in a nice home, nice community close to the Medical Center, expect to spend a min $500,000 (some town homes might be in the +$300,000 range..just no yard). Send me your information, address. I can forward to you a detailed school report as well as a relocation packet. You might consider the Pearland area to the south. Newer homes, Pearland schools and within 30 minutes of the area your looking in. Let us know if we can help.
Welcome to Houston! Moving to Houston is a popular choice these days. The city is diverse and so is the housing. There are homes in all price ranges available within 15 minutes of the medical center. There are several options with good schools as well. I would love to know your price range and other specifications in order to narrow down the search. I can assist you in finding the perfect home in Houston. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
Jordie, how exciting! Congratulations on your upcoming big move! In the medical center alone (not counting what is within 15 minutes drive) there are 118 active listings, with a HUGE range in price from $28,000 to well over $1,000,000. That can definitely be narrowed down by the schools of your choosing, the actual area, the price range, and the type of home you are looking for (single family, townhouse, condo, hi-rise, etc.). I have two offices that are both close by, I am familiar with the area, and I would love to be of assistance to your family in this process. Feel free to call, text, or email me if you would like further assistance. 832-373-9755 cody@interohouston.com
