They say about 85% of Realtors get out of the business within the first 5 years, this is obviously due to income. What can a new realtor expect the first few years with all of the learning and training before you take the training wheels off and really start rolling. Approximately or about average?

I agree with Veronica that you decide what you want your income to be and then back up and set goals to achieve it. I don't believe the reason agents, as you state, get out of the business in five years because of the money. I think it is because it is hard work to be a successful agent. Some people enter into real estate as a career because they think it is easy money. It is more than showings some homes, writing contracts and waiting for the check to arrive. Being a Realtor is running a small business, your small business. As with any business operation it is usually a slow start that builds year upon year, you get out what you put into it and most successful agents I know put in a lot of hours to be where they are today.

Are you asking what average income you can expect to earn as a real estate agent? You begin your question with "as a new agent..." that makes me think your question is about your own projected income. As an entrepreneur you need to have a business plan that outlines your income goal and the steps you will take to achieve it. What that means is, YOU decide what you will earn, and you then do what it takes to achieve that income goal. If you don't know how to write and develop a business plan, your broker may be able to help you. There are also books and business resources related to the topic of business planning. Also, the ePRO Internet Marketing and Technology certification course by NAR has a business planning section. Hope this helps. PM me if you need more information.
