Fall Creek, the only major master-planned golf course community within Beltway 8, has quickly established itself as one of Houston’s most attractive and well-located communities. Only 15 miles from downtown Houston and eight miles from Bush Intercontinental Airport, the 2,300-acre development offers a wealth of amenities in an enviable wooded landscape. Fall Creek features homes from the $150,000s to $2 million, and buyers can select from executive homes, patio homes, or custom designs in the gated village of Serrano Creek. And while Houston’s major employment centers and entertainment focal points are within easy reach, a heavily wooded setting, resort-style amenities and world-class golf make it hard to leave Fall Creek. Redstone Golf Club – home to the Shell Houston Open – offers two 18-hole championship courses. A 33,000-square-foot rock-and-glass clubhouse serves the public Tournament Course, designed by Rees Jones, as well as the private Jacobsen Hardy-designed Member Course. Surrounded by five acres of carefully preserved wetlands and native wildlife, Redstone Golf Club’s 31,000-square-foot practice range features a generous practice putting area, a short game practice area with chipping and pitching greens, fairway and greenside bunkers, and a driving range. Fall Creek residents also enjoy relaxing at The Park at Fall Creek, a resort-style recreation complex that includes an aquatic center covering more than two acres, as well as four lighted tennis courts and a playground. A junior Olympic pool, family pool, water playground, water slides and spray ground provides fun for all ages. A second swimming complex is open and a third is in the planning stages. Numerous parks accent Fall Creek’s landscape, as do three lakes offering catch-and-release fishing. Opening in 2010 is a sports complex that will cater to a variety of team sports, including baseball and soccer. In addition, the park will include a sand volleyball court, playground and nature trail. Students are served by schools in the Humble Independent School District, including Fall Creek Elementary, which opened in August 2008 and is located within the community. Other schools include Atascocita Middle School and Atascocita High School, which opened in 2006. More good news for Fall Creek residents is a 13-mile extension of Beltway 8 from just east of U.S. 59 North to south of U.S. 90A East. Construction is under way, with an estimated spring 2011 completion date. The $550 million project, which will provide three lanes in each direction when finished, will further enhance Fall Creek’s accessibility. Location: Fall Creek is located on the Sam Houston Parkway, one mile east of U.S. 59 North. It is approximately 15 miles northeast of Houston’s Central Business District (CBD) in Harris County.
