With over 30,000 realtors in Houston how do you choose the right one? You may have friends, family and colleagues suggesting names. It is advisable to interview 2-3 people. Here are some suggested questions to ask together with how I would answer them.

Fiona helped me sell my house in the Heights and I for sure could not have done it without her. She helped me get it ready to show, scheduled my inspections, cleanings and all other necessary pre-sale activities. We had several unforeseen issues come up and Fiona handled them all. As a real estate attorney, I have the opportunity to work with and opposite of a lot of agents and brokers, and Fiona stands out to me as one of the few agents that is truly a master at her craft. She is knowledgeable, respected, well-connected, and goes far beyond her calling to accomplish her client's goals. Moreover, perhaps one of her best qualities as an agent is her unabashed willingness to level with her clients and manage expectations while also fighting to exceed those expectations (as opposed to telling a client what they want to hear, hoping for the best, and failing to communicate when things don't go as planned - something that happens far too often with inexperienced agents).
I recently worked with Fiona on a residential sale involving a complicated, undiscovered title defect issue that held up closing until we could get the defect cleared. Because she is knowledgeable and well-connected, Fiona knew who to call to fix the issue and was somehow able to keep the buyer in the deal for an additional 3 weeks until closing due to her prior relationship and report with the buyer's agent. Most often, transactions fall through when major title defects arise due to the timelines involved to cure them, meaning the seller's home sits on the market for months longer, but Fiona was the single link that held the deal together and brought it to closing with only a minor delay. Because of her experience and perseverance, both her client and the buyer overcame a disaster to accomplished their goals.
Based upon my experience having been on both the same and opposite sides of multiple deals with Fiona, I would gladly recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking to sell or buy a home. She is one of the best.
