New and Improved My HomeFinder

The My HomeFinder service, brought to you by the more than 23,000 members of the Houston Association of REALTORS® and sponsored by Reliant Energy, is one of the most actively used services on HAR.com, and thank you for being among 130,000 active subscribers who have used this feature. And now, we are happy to let you know that it is even better.

We would like to announce the launch of a major upgrade of the My HomeFinder tool. This upgrade contains major functionality and feature enhancements built with feedback from our REALTOR® members and subscribers like you.

New Features Include:
  • Simpler, Better Interface - Easier Integration
  • More search options to filter listings (amenities and lot descriptions)
  • Easy to access My HomeFinder features using the new Toolbar
  • Ability to edit your saved searches
  • Organize your bookmarked listings

The new My HomeFinder toolbar appears throughout the consumer's search experience. No longer do visitors have to flip back and forth between applications to bookmark listings and save their searches. Once a user has logged in, all of the benefits of the My HomeFinder tool become available.



The search mechanism for My HomeFinder will now allow users to filter out listings with specific amenities and lot descriptions. Additional search options include searching for open houses, new listings, foreclosures, and new/recent construction. We have also integrated Microsoft® Virtual Earth™, which provides detailed, high-resolution satellite-image mapping—available with aerial, bird’s eye and 3-D options—so that viewers can examine fine details of most properties and the surrounding area from multiple angles and distances.



Prior to the launch of the new and improved My HomeFinder, users were able to save their searches, but were not able to view or edit the search criteria after creating them. Users can now save their searches, edit the searches, and resave them.



Users can now group their bookmarks into multiple categories for quick viewing. In addition, if there is a price/status change for one of your bookmarked listings, you'll be able to see the old price and the reduced price.



My HomeFinder users now have the option to add personalized information to their My HomeFinder account. Users can define their interest in either selling their home or buying a home, and designate the time frame in which they plan to begin that process. Users can also indicate if they are currently working with a REALTOR®, and provide that REALTOR'S® name.
