HAR ANNOUNCES RECOMMENDED CANDIDATES FOR CITY COUNCIL RACES IN MISSOURI CITY

HOUSTON – (October 2, 2017) – The Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) Board of Directors has announced its decision to support the following candidates running for City Council positions in Missouri City, Texas on Tuesday, November 7.

Yolanda Ford - District A
Jeffrey Boney - District B
Anthony Maroulis - District C
Floyd Emery - District D

HAR Fort Bend Political Affairs Advisory Leadership Chair Dionne Randle commended all the candidates’ commitment to the interests of Missouri City residents. “This November, Missouri City voters have the opportunity to continue supporting proven leaders in our incumbent Council Members Ford, Maroulis and Emery and also bringing in some fresh perspective in newcomer Jeffrey Boney,” said Randle. “They all understand our issues and we enthusiastically support them.”


Houston Realtors are involved in the political process at all levels, promoting policies and supporting candidates who advocate for property rights and home ownership in the city of Missouri City. According to the U.S. Census Current Population Survey, Texas has a 62 percent in homeownership rate. The City of Missouri City has an 83 percent homeownership rate, one of the highest in the state. Electing public officials who understand property owners’ concerns and act accordingly is the Association’s top priority.

The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, October 10. Early voting begins on Monday, October 23 and runs through Friday, November 3. Election Day is Tuesday, November 7.
