SALES OF HOMES INSIDE LOOP 610 IN HOUSTON SOAR IN MARCH

Sales of single family homes in all of Houston for March 2010 will be 8% to 10% higher than March 2009. The increase was driven by large improvement in neighborhoods inside Loop 610. In these close-in neighborhoods, single family home sales improved more than 40% over March 2009.

For the first quarter of 2010 single family homes sales will be somewhere between down 2% and up 2%, once the final statistics are released. Single family home sales inside Loop 610 will show an increase of more than 20% for the first quarter. It should be noted that all of the increase inside Loop 610 in the first quarter occured in March. Sales for the first two months were even with 2009.

The sales increase was not uniform in all close-in neighborhoods. Watch this blog for neighborhood by neighborhood analysis by price range. The analyses will be done when the final statistics are released.
