Simple, Low Cost, Do It Yourself Home Maintenance Tips

Owning a home is a rewarding experience, from knowing you’ve made a sound investment to personalizing it into your own sanctuary. Maintaining it however, can sometimes be a real pain. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for cost/time efficient home maintenance tips, for my clients as well as for my own home. So I was pretty excited when I came across an article which covers in depth how to maintain your home’s kitchen and bathrooms without spending a great deal of time or money.

The article’s intended audience is landlords, but I feel that this information is equally valuable for the average homeowner and tenants as well. It delves into ways you can fix common problems like leaky faucets and mildew/mold without having to hire a contractor. I am especially intrigued by the article’s tip for fixing a clogged drain, which includes combining vinegar and baking soda just like you did in high school, instead of buying a pricey unblocking kit or passing the problem off to a plumber. Handy knowledge like this is obviously of great use to a landlord looking to get the most out of their investment, but for a homeowner trying to save money or a tenant looking for a fix quick to a problem, it’s a good resource as well. So whether you’re a landlord, homeowner, or tenant, I’d recommend keeping these tips on hand because you never know when you might need them!
