Old dance halls and first calls

If you have never been to an old dance hall you truly must go. They are, unfortunately, a dying breed, and few and far between. Some of us were lucky enough to goew up in communities where there was a local dance hall where we'd go to wedding receptions, birthday parties, baptismal parties OR a Friday or Saturday night dance. Many folks met their true love in one of these places, or learned how to dance. As with all of our historic structures I think its imperative that we support and preserve these local treasures. Here's  your opportunity to see and experience firsthand what one of these beauties has to offer to its visitors on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The Burton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its yearly fundraiser and dance at the historic La Bahia Turn Verein and Dance Hall. Convenietly located about 16 miles west of Burton off of Hwy 237. a ,mere mile or so from Hwy 290. Dance, dream and enjoy a piece of our past that still stands today.
