When you purchase a home you will definitely want the seller to furnish a home warranty, which will cover your home for most repairs for the first year. There are several reputable home warranty companies out there. They each offer basically the same types of coverage for fairly comparable costs. The different levels are very similar between all companies, but each company has small things that set them apart. Make sure your Realtor provides you with options and you understand what these small differences are. The seller will pay for this in most cases as long as it was negotiated in your contract, but ultimately the choice of what company to use is your choice.
