The company was founded by Russell Brown in 1908. He designed and built more than a dozen homes in Avondale between 1908 and 1925. He built a ton of homes in the area and used the best material from each to create this Queen Anne/Craftsman like the tiger striped wood in the parlor, the downstairs floors with over 20 nails in each square,pier/beams and the banister . He lived at the home until his Death around 1940 and improved it's longevity  along the way.

Westmoreland was the first deed restricted community developed by the South End Land Company, also created Bellaire. Russell picked this huge corner lot for the privacy and also it was one the closest lot to get to the troll since it was not allowed in the neighborhood.
