New to Houston, this summer?  Welcome!

Some items to get you started in feeling right at home....

Do:
•Always wear sunscreen.... always.  The sun is always shining bright in Houston!
•Go to Galveston Beach for the fun, then go to Surfside Beach for the calm.
•Sit in an over-sized lawn chair.... off Heights Blvd.
•Don't have a bike?!  Rent one! https://houston.bcycle.com/
•While on your bike... grab a bite to eat at a food truck.  https://roaminghunger.com/hou (you may want to get the app for that).
•Get physical at Memorial Park - one loop around equals about 3 miles.
•Take photos in front of Transco Tower Water Wall near the Galleria.
•Check out the Friday night salsa dancing under the stars at The Aquarium Downtown.
•Spend some time at Discovery Green Park in Downtown
•See the museums, there's several to choose from: Art, Science, Childern's, Health, Weather, Funeral History, Art Car, and Holocaust.
•Learn how to pronounce: Humble (Um-ble not Hum-ble)... the "H" is silent.
•Learn how to pronounce: Kuykendahl (Kirk-in-dahl)
•Learn how to pronounce: Atascocita (Ah-tass-ca-see-ta)

Don't:
Mess with Texas!
•Drive the wrong way if you are on Durham Dr. or Shepherd Dr. (specifically the area between I-610 and I-10).  All four Durham Dr. lanes travels southbound.  All four Shepherd Dr. lanes travels northbound.  Good rule of thumb... if you see headlights coming at you, you're driving the wrong way!
•Get stuck in rush hour traffic, which is from 6am till noon and again from 3pm till 7pm... On all freeways.
•Forget to water the foundation of your home - water it lots during the summer heat!
•Sell, buy or rent a home without a good Realtor!

Enjoy Houston, new-comers!  Appreciate Houston, old-timers!  And hug a Realtor today!
