Feed your Mind at Heights STEM Night & the LEARN LOCAL Food Truck Fundraiser TONIGHT at Hogg MS at 1100 Merrill!

Don't worry about making dinner tonight!  The food trucks fuel up starting at 5:30 p.m. on the west end of the Hogg Middle School lawn at 1100 Merrill.
 
Tonight is Harvard's annual Math Night for 3rd - 5th graders and their families and will be held in conjunction with Travis Elementary. Hogg Middle School will provide science, math and art activities. Reagan High School teachers will provide active teacher-led learning in the gym. Join us for dinner prior to the event at 5:30 pm. Several food trucks will be set up on the west end of the school. This night is sponsored by the Heights area IB World Schools - Harvard ES, Hogg MS and Reagan HS.

Bring a blanket and join your neighbors on the Hogg West Lawn near Oakridge Street while you enjoy eats from the following food trucks:

■ Koagie Hots
■ Monster PBJ
■ Pi Pizza
■ Kona Ice

It's going to be a beautiful night, so consider walking if you're close.

Proceeds from the Food Truck Fundraiser will go toward the Titlewish fundraiser (started by our Woodland Heights neighbor and Hogg librarian Suzanne Webb) to buy more books for the school library.

Suzanne is the new librarian at Hogg Middle School and parent of a Travis 3rd grader. The Hogg library is in need of some community support. You all know how tight funding is in HISD and Dr. Schnitta, the Principal at Hogg, is helping fund the library as much as she can but the library is in need of new books/ebooks. In the past 3 months the students have checked out over 4,400 books! They need new books feed their love of reading.

Starting November 8 and ending on December 2, we are having an online Titlewish fundraiser. 100% of the money we raise will go directly to purchasing new materials for our school library.

We’re asking you to participate and help us raise $5,000. We will use this money to purchase hundreds of new books for our library! There will be an emphasis placed on high interest non-fiction and fiction books/ebooks that will pique your child’s curiosity and love of reading in a fun way.
