Hey there! I'm Natalia Bennett, the brains, passion, and unstoppable force behind The Ascend Real Estate Co. Ever felt like you were on a real estate roller coaster, blindfolded? That was me. I had one too many bad experiences related to real estate, back when I was just a "regular Jane." I expected to understand the end-to-end process of buying or selling a home; yet, over and over again I ended up disillusioned, disappointed, and at the end of the process, having lost money. Picture this: I was buying a home, and the bank told me the house was worth $10,000 less than what I was under contract to buy it for. The seller said that I had to come up with the money, or else I will lose the deposit (several thousands) I had already paid to "hold" this house. From there, it went all downhill: without my knowing, someone in the family pawned valuables, some of which were family heirlooms, to come up with that money. Since the house was not worth it, that money was lost; just gone! Based on what I know now, it should not have been; I could have backed out of the contract with my deposit intact.
That was the last straw and my lightbulb moment. Enough is enough! No more thrill rides in the dark! It's time to turn those "oh no" moments into "aha!" ones.
